Skiing on the Catinaccio/Rosengarten

You can reach the skiing area from Vigo di Fassa via a modern escalator that takes skiers from the centre of the village to the "Catinaccio" cable car departure station, or from Pera di Fassa with the "Vajolet 1", "Vajolet 2" and "Pian Pecei" chairlifts.

The area is well equipped for families: there’s a large Baby Park where children can be left in the care of the Vigo Ski School, which organises skiing lessons, or the Mini Club for fun activities (www.scuolascivigo.com).

The Thöni slope running for 4.5 km from Prà Martin to Vigo di Fassa is both fun and a challenge. Today, you can reach it with one strong push! The new "Prà Martin-Thöni" link is one of the most enjoyable and varied slopes in the Val di Fassa, and includes a red slope with a 700-metre descent full of bends and gradients that all skiers can enjoy. Capable skiers can test their skills on the black “Alberto Tomba” slope: the international champion trained at Ciampedie for many years, to the joy of many skiing enthusiasts and his fans

There are 6 refuges to choose from, 5 of which can also be reached on foot from the Vigo-Ciampedie cableway arrival station:

Baita Checco, Baita La Zondra, Baita Prà Martin, Rifugio Bellavista, Rifugio Ciampedie, Rifugio Negritella.

Rifugio Negritella is actually a high-altitude hotel with rooms for overnight stays.
